How can checking mobile network and Wi-Fi options in the building influence your choice of home?

Featured in:

These days, a home without reliable connectivity can be a serious problem, especially if you work from home or rely on your phone for almost everything. Some buildings have thick walls, awkward positions, or are in network “shadow” zones where signals are weak.

Checking mobile reception inside the flat – not just outside – by making a call, trying a video call, and running a quick speed test gives you a real-world feel. Ask neighbours which networks work best. Also check which broadband or fibre providers actually serve the building, and what speeds they typically offer.

If calls drop constantly in the bedroom or work corner, or if there’s no decent broadband option available, you’ll feel frustrated very quickly after moving in.

A beautiful home that leaves you leaning out of windows for signal or tethering your phone all day might not be worth the headache.
