Why might you want to find out if any major road or metro expansion is planned near the property?

Featured in:

Big infrastructure projects are double-edged. A new road or metro line can make an area more convenient and increase property value in the long run, but the construction phase can be noisy, dusty and disruptive.

If a new flyover, wider road or metro line is planned very close to your building, you might face years of heavy machinery, blocked access and constant noise. After completion, increased traffic could mean more sound and pollution near your windows. Or, in a positive scenario, it could make commuting much easier.

Knowing about these plans before you commit gives you a chance to decide if the trade-off is worth it. Maybe you’re okay with two years of disturbance for better connectivity later. Or maybe you’d rather choose somewhere more stable.

Either way, “surprise construction right outside your balcony” is not something you want to discover only after moving in.
